Mac Cov Women Ministries annual beach retreat, February 24-26, brought 40 women together for a weekend of worshipping, in-depth bible study, singing, fellowship, and breathing in the beauty of our Pacific Ocean in Lincoln City.
Friday night after a delicious dinner, we jumped into our theme, “What Are You Hungry For” led by Helen Morse and Laura Rudeen. Psalm 23 and John 10:11-16 opened up study and discussion of God’s promises.
Back by popular demand, we enjoyed our “get to know you game.” After breaking into groups each team would decide which story to tell to all the women. The plan is to make it difficult to determine who actually told the story. From alligator wrestling to daring adventures, and other stories that will remain our secret, the evening ended to our faces hurting from laughter.
We were greeted Saturday morning with a stunning sunrise and blue skies. A perfect day at the beach! Beautiful worship music led by Jessica Sloan, Lydia Driver and Breeayn Ardianto touched our hearts and souls. Connie Smith led our first break out session in the afternoon. She guided us through intentional prayer then onto the beach to walk a labyrinth carved into the sand. Kay Hotaling introduced the topic of Judgment and Compassion. After reading scripture and quotes, our open discussion brought our hearts closer to God and each other.
As our weekend was knitted together by the love of Jesus, it ended beautifully on Sunday with more spirit-filled music and a homily offered by Leah Gomes. As we shared communion together, we were reminded of the amazing love and healing power of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A huge thank you to Barb Sparrow and Grace Driver, who prepared delicious food for the weekend. What a treat!! And thank you to everyone that helped in so many ways…
