Special Events

Throughout the year, Children's Ministries provides a number of special, seasonal events designed especially for children. In the Fall, Trunk or Treat serves as a family fun and safe alternative on Halloween Day. The evening begins with a variety of games—like Pumpkin Bowling and Lollipop Toss—for children to play and food. The evening wraps up with the children “trunk or treating” to decorated car trunks hosted by church families in our parking lot. During the Christmas season, we celebrate Christ's birth with an all-church Christmas Program and Dessert. Children, youth and adults participate in this musical event that is performed for the church. In the Spring, we rejoice in Christ's resurrection on Easter with breakfast and a Scavenger Hunt.  After school is out, there is a week of day camp at Tilikum Camp. Children attend George Fox University affiliate Camp Tilikum where they are outdoors with a variety of activities. Our largest event is Vacation Bible School held in the summer. It is a week-long event where children learn about God and worship God in a fun child-centered environment. This year VBS will be July 27-31, 2009. Read more about it on the VBS page. Secret Servants - Once a month, 4th & 5th graders are invited to be a Secret Servant at the Secret Servants Agency. The SSA does activities that serve others in our church and community. It's an opportunity for children to put feet to their faith!   These are the annual events, but we also aim for a few Family Fun Nights throughout the year—a time for the family to be together.
