Special Events

Throughout the year, Children's Ministries provides a number of special, seasonal events designed especially for children.

In the Fall, Trunk or Treat serves as a family fun and safe alternative on Halloween Day. The Mac Cov community provides trick-or-treating in our parking lot by decorating our vehicles. Join us this year on October 31 from 6-7 p.m. for games, snacks, and, of course, “Trunk-or-Treating”!

During the Christmas season, we celebrate Christ's birth with an all-church Christmas Program and

celebration. Children, youth and adults participate in this musical event that is performed for the church.

In the Spring, we rejoice in Christ's resurrection on Easter with breakfast and a Scavenger Hunt.

Summer Highlights:

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a four day-long event where children learn about God and worship God in a fun, child-centered environment. Read more about it on the VBS page.

There is a week of day camp at Tilikum for 1st-6th grade students. Children attend George Fox University affiliate Camp Tilikum where they are outdoors with a variety of activities. Mac Cov kids are invited to attend during one week each summer. Summer 2012 date is set for July 2-6. Parents please note that it will be a full 5 day camp week - July 4 will not be taken as a holiday.

We also support our regional ECC camp, Cascades Camp and Conference Center. Cascades provides a variety of overnight summer camp options for children 2nd-12th grade. Cascades Camp has 3 camps in 1 - a ranch, junior camp and junior high camp - as well as leader training options for high school students. Check out the Cascades Camp website, www.cascadescamp.org, for more information and dates. MCC wants children who desire to go to camp to be able to attend so we have a Camp Scholarship program. Ask the Children's Coordinator for more information.
