Todd Anderson, Senior Pastor. Todd became McMinnville Covenant Church's senior pastor in August 2006. Prior to joining us, he served 6 years as a pastor in DeKalb, IL. Todd and his wife Lauri have three school age children. Mark Carlson, Associate Pastor to Youth. Mark has served at McMinnville Covenant Church since 2004. Mark and his wife Anna (Children's Ministries Coordinator) have one young child and are expecting another in March. Ted Yuen, Worship Pastor, began his ministry at McMinnville Covenant Church March 2005. He and his wife Penny have two young children. Anna Carlson, Children's Ministry Coordinator, joined our staff in May 2005. She is married to Mark (Youth Pastor) and they have one young child and are expecting another in March. Julie Kennedy, Co-Office Administrator, joined the office staff August 2006. Julie and her husband Bert have one child in high school and one in college. Katie Sparrow, Co-Office Administrator, has been working at McMinnville Covenant since 1998. Katie and her husband Dan have three young children.
McMinnville Covenant Church is a community of believers from varied backgrounds that was birthed in 1973 out of a Bible study group with six couples. This congregation has grown through the years to more than five hundred, and has ministries to people of all ages, including children, youth, college, young adults, middle adults, and older adults. The church is characterized by a friendly and informal atmosphere, a joyful yet serious faith commitment, and a vibrant and contemporary style. God is using the clear message of his love and grace to touch and transform many lives through the ministries of this congregation. A hundred and fifty years ago a spiritual awakening swept across Sweden, and when Swedes joined the immigration to America, they brought that revival spirit with them. In 1885, a number of those Swedes "covenanted" together to form the Evangelical Covenant Church, that has since those days become a diverse denomination represented by a broad ethnic mix. The Evangelical Covenant Church holds to the necessity of personal faith in Jesus Christ, the authority of the Bible, and a family feeling that is centered in grace rather than rules. While we are no longer a Swedish church, we cling to the fervor of that original faith as we see the denomination grow in ministry and in numbers.
